Professional politicians reluctant to ban TikTok

It appears that our legislators are reluctant to ban TikTok in this country.

And just why might that be?

Well, this would upset young people--especially the 18-to-30 age group--so this could cost them their votes.

In other words, professional politicians are afraid that their very careers could be at stake here.

This is just another example of why I utterly deplore the very existence of professional politicians--whether they have a "D" or an "R" next to their names.

I can see banning it from government IT devices. Businesses should follow suit. If idiots want it on their smart phones, let them be idiots.

As I understand stand it TikTok promotes education among young people in China while at the same time it promotes senseless graphic behavior in our youth and I think that's intentional.

I don't believe that banning is a wise solution but we do have a problem.

It is my understanding that China allows children under the age of 14 only 60 minutes per day on TikTok (or Douyin, as it is called there); and it is limited to the hours of 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. (Those under 13 would require a code entered by their parents to have an additional 30 minutes).

Oh, and their version is much different than its American counterpart--much more educational.
