Every time I hear someone bring up using eminent domain to obtain something for the government that benefits the government, I hunt down the articles about the Tocks Island Dam.

Tocks Island Dam Controversy - Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)

The proposed Tocks Island Dam would have created a lake-sized reservoir roughly 40 miles long and a mile wide. Before building it, some 600 families and property owners whose land would be inundated had to be displaced. Some of these families had lived on and worked the land for centuries.

    Simon Foy

The chief executive of JP Morgan has suggested that governments should seize private land to build wind and solar farms in order to meet net zero targets.
Jamie Dimon, the longstanding boss of the Wall Street titan who donates to the Democratic Party, said green energy projects must be fast-tracked as the window for averting the most costly impacts of global climate change is closing.
In his annual shareholder letter, Mr Dimon said: “Permitting reforms are desperately needed to allow investment to be done in any kind of timely way.
“We may even need to evoke eminent domain – we simply are not getting the adequate investments fast enough for grid, solar, wind and pipeline initiatives.”
Eminent domain is when a government or state agency carries out a compulsory purchase of private property for public use and compensates the asset holder.

So, steal what you cannot buy...............sounds liberal to me
Now this might just be me, but are not the most expensive parts of Climate Change, Solar and Wind farms?

I forget the case, but it went up to SCOTUS and the taking was upheld. To this day, that land remains unused.

Things like roads and bridges have not often been in dispute. However in this instance I would argue that the same electricity can be found by other means a thus the burden of public good (especially local) is highly questionable.

But then we can count on lefty government lawyers to blather their way around common sense can't we!

Makes no senses. The Federal Government has millions of acres of land where both sources of unaffordable and unecological electric and solar farms can be located.

Note: make no mistake I don't approve of this.

But JP and financiers like the federal government couldn't bilk taxpayers for the eventual, planned failure.

Solar can only work on a house to house basis.
But never void of fossil fuel .

The goal is to bamboozle( boy that's gunna make autocorrect think) the public into accepting these solar farm failures and land seizures by making fossil fuel very expensive.

There is no greater enemy, domestic or foreign than one that threatens our energy independence.
And it sits in the Oval Office of the White House in comfort, never worrying about the costs or paying the electric bill.

The Constitution greatly limits the federal government's authority to own land. It is time for the feds to sell the land or return the lands to States control.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.
