Of course it isn't bad if you are drinking it.

A typical soda has 25 grams of added sugar.

All are free to drink it. But they should understand what they are drinking, no?

Actually, after not drinking soda for ages I happened to have a can of Sunkist and...wow. It was super sweet and I crashed hard about 45 minutes later. Like falling asleep in my chair hard.

A lot of people have moved to 0 calorie sodas. TBH, I see more of that than regular sodas. Sometimes by a long shot.

I think the new big this is alcohol sugars. Zero calories. If you are not one of the few who claim headaches from it, it seems to be an option.

But I just don't have a sweet tooth that calls me. Of course, if I indulge I enjoy it. But I don't crave it.

90% cocoa is great. Many people see that as too bitter and not sweet enought.

I've had sugar alcohols in protein bars. IMO, they don't taste good at all. It just makes the bars a little more palatable.

Cocoa and real chocolate are good for you but those are flavors I never liked. Coffee too.

Well you sound like added sugar isn't a thing for you. That is good.

I do have s sweet tooth but I usually make good choices even when I have "junk". For example, I like Breyer's no sugar added vanilla ice cream. 100 calories per serving. 9 per tub.

I just checked the carton and that has sugar alcohols so I take my previous statement back. At least when combined with real sugar (like in dairy) they're good. Something about protein bars has a chemical taste. Maybe it's the whey.

    Probably a cheap whey.

They're a waste anyway. If you're going supplement with whey, buy a tub of powder.

    True.

When you see it added to a food item, you should ask if this is from a good source and does it actual absorb if I eat it.

Whey is highly absorbable, generally speaking. I never tried a casein supplement but I get a lot of casein from dairy.
