No, that was Free Willie, a documentary about a guy in Central Park who compulsively flashed his dingdong at passersby.

LOL Funny thread, I searched my database of text files and found lots of references but like article at bottom below behind paywalls now.

"We must believe in free will. We have no choice." Isaac Bashevis Singer

The concept of free will is hard to define as we are free to do all sort of things but there are consequences to many or most. Like most complex questions or concepts, context is required, when you throw context in, free will becomes something else. The moralist uses free will often to condemn or chastise. Maybe we all do. Check out Daniel Dennett a favorite of mine.

I am surprised at how well this simple and obvious question has demonstrated the emptiness of arguments about free will. When it comes down the the rubber meeting the road, free will, no matter whether a gift from an imaginary God, or a self-gifted power, doesn’t even have bald tires on it.

As a practical matter, it doesn’t exist. Interesting…

Still nothing from the free-willers? I'd say God is quite the salesman to have offered an empty free will promise when she knew good and well that nobody could use it.

Who the Hell did she think she was? Trump?

I think this is called avoiding the trap. What you are looking to do is pull apart any specific point you can find for a very simple concept that has already been defined for you at least twice that I saw.

I assume you are going to say that you do not have free will because others also have free will but you are free to think whatever you want and try whatever you want. Even Democrats are free to think for themselves if they want to try it sometime.
    Let's go Brandon !!!

It was a very simple question, Carol. Nobody gave an answer, except for me. Why do you think it is a trap?

What's your favorite use of free will?

Free will is being free of surrender. It is a state of mind. Someone can physically stop you but they cannot stop your free will.
