Exclamation 6 month suspension for former federal prosecutor's intern harassment

A former federal prosecutor is facing a six-month suspension of his law license for sexually harassing an intern.

The Ohio Board of Professional Conduct found former Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Bennett sexually harassed the intern over a 16-month span, including dozens of sexually suggestive messages and one accusation that he groped her.

Mark Bennett intentionally touched the 24-year-old woman’s chest with the back of his hand and sent her several sexually charged messages, including asking for nude photos, according to a complaint filed last week by the Ohio Disciplinary Counsel, which investigates attorney misconduct.

Bennett resigned from the federal prosecutor’s office in late 2020 amid an investigation into the accusations. The complaint was filed with the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct. The Ohio Supreme Court ultimately makes any decision on attorney discipline.

Again this sound a little off.

She left her job and then came back in 2018 after Bennet supposedly asked her what she was willing to do to get her job back.
He left in 2020 and his lawyer claims that he just recently learned of the complaint?

Is this just a first step to a law suit?

Did you read the opinion? It is interesting because of the ethics involved. He deserved the suspension but I would've expected it to be stayed b/c of a first offense, her admitted flirtatious behavior, not telling him 'no' etc. Not excusing him or blaming her, though she acknowledged some degree of fault. The ethics are on him and he deserved the smack, but again I was surprised it wasn't a suspended suspension. Maybe this was a message?

Actually, I did not see the second link so I went off and looked for other information which was a vague as the cleveland.com article. The second link clears it up.

What makes you think the woman involved couldn't do it herself?

Never crossed my mind I am assuming that she would have done it if she could. these predators don't pick on people that have a reputation of standing up for themselves.

I think in the Show Wednesday young miss Addams had the perfect 3 words for people like this. Rope, Shovel, Hole

Having a reputation for standing up for one's self, doesn't necessarily equate to not being able to do so. The old phrase, watch out for the quiet ones.

A phrase I like: Hug your enemies, so you know how big to dig the hole.

I can't speak to what happened and why and how welcome it was or wasn't. But I do know that the following caught my attention:

Bennett tried to look under the woman’s skirt and made sexually inappropriate comments about her to others in the office, according to the complaint.

How are those two things even in the same sentence?

A grown man upskirting at the office is kind of strange and just wrong.

A grown man saying "Hey Bill how would you like to....her" Was normal, at least in the 90's. I worked with a lot of women and they talk about such things too. Not as often as men but they do when the mood strikes them. Is this not human nature to an extent? Of course, maybe what he said was far worse.
I'm just saying how are those things presented equally like on a big pharma ad saying "May cause constipation, gas, or death"

" made sexually inappropriate comments about her to others in the office, according to the complaint."

If they had enforced that in the 90's , most men would be in jail. LOL. I mean this comment was in the same paragrapgh as
