Did you know you could use that switch tower building and make it into two separate buildings. I turned the bottom half into a small town bank and the top into a restaurant. I named my railroad "The Piney Grove and Dunloken Railway. It was a shortline that specialized in produce and lumber outbound and farm supplies in. The time period of the road was August 29, 1931. I had nothing on the layout that would not have existed before that date.

I've come a ways since then. I've shot some videos, but I don't have the means to get them to the public eye. My set up is rather juvenile as compared to others, but everything operates the way it's supposed to work.
Currently. I'm working on a canyon feature............

Pretty funny. By all rights I should be pushing up flowers. My heart (with medications) only pumps about a quarter of the flow I need. It's not uncommon for me to rack up a 88/47. I don't get pissed about anything any more. My son, courtesy of a POA takes care of me and all my affairs. I lost my house (sold) during the ordeal and now living in a condo for seniors. Two old farts and six gals. Guess who rules in the housing association! So in a sense, I got it made and I know how fortunate I am to be that position. I've decided God has more for me to do, I'm just not sure what it might be. I found out in the nursing home how very little I needed to survive. I didn't have a pair of shoes or spare change. My son called in Hospice but the staff wondered why the hell I was there. I'd write a book, but I've taken up painting pictures just to have something to do.

I rang the 88/44 bell right before my Type 1 diabetes diagnosis. Doctor said most people were in a hospital with BP like that.

Glad you've kept to this side of the grass. Interesting how decluttering one's life can be rather... cathartic?

What a journey. Surreal at the least. Month and a half in the hospital followed by five months in a nursing home. God forbid. Tough to visit let alone, being a resident. I thought I'd never get out. On the bright side, they let me out and even offered me a job. Go figure.

I'm just kind of reluctant for major road trips. I didn't drive for ten months so I still drive too far from home. For me, Jim is a little too far away for my comfort zone. Maybe I can con a buddy into hauling me south! I'll have to bribe him. Hey Jim, I love that little Canadian National engine. It looks really cool.

It's been good. We had a pretty mild winter. Though we did have a severe windstorm a couple of weeks ago, super high winds from dawn to dusk. Today was beautiful.

My railroads were all based on Atlas track and manual switch throws. They were all single level and most on a single sheet of plywood (4 x 8). I had a lot of plastic buildings but a smattering of Campbell and other wooden kits. I even tried scratch building a small passenger station. Funny but the older I got and the worse my vision became the better my kits looked!!

The side effect of HO trains is that you're never done until, like Doc, you're done.
My efforts are quite juvenile in materials. I do scratch built and kit bashing. My centerpiece is made of blue board (foam board) so I can alter it easily, over wafer board with 1/4 in ply over that.
One person said something once about playing with trains. With me, it's using dioramas to tell a story. The trains are just the vehicle.
