The NCAA and professional sports governing bodies promote gambling. They assist the odds makers. Their position is extremely hypocritical.

I hate it. The flood of advertising for it is ridiculous. It is on the Browns Season Ticketholders App. I'm inundated with it. Radio. TV. It is dangerous and predatory.

Booze and gambling. Hell they'd advertise tobacco and illicit drugs if they thought they could make another buck.

IIRC, the Ohio gambling people shut down betting on Iowa sports this past weekend because of weird movement.

And that's next. A pitcher, a quarterback , a coach could make somebody big bucks by screwing up

The sports governing bodies stance on gambling is hypocritical and inconsistent.


A football player or coach will get suspended if they participate in a NCAA basketball tournament pool where they buy squares for a dollar each at a local bar.


NFL players have been suspended for going to someone’s home and placing a friendly bet on the super bowl.

There was a major college coach here who was fined and sanctioned for participating in an NFL pool with his neighbors. None of whom had any connection to college or pro sports.


But the NCAA and all professional sports are in cooperation with the odds makers. They claim they are doing that to keep it honest.
