I was out of the home at 17. The day I graduated HS. My option was to pay $100 a week room and board, which meant get out. But it didn't matter because every kid I knew was gone from their home and couldn't wait to be independent. They moved in with friends or headed to college or off to AZ or CA.
This week I saw a story where they thought it was a big deal that a 19 year old girl in TX was being charged rent by her parents. She moved out within 9 months.
So in a society where so many kids are given a free ride, don't get part time jobs and then stay home into their 30s, should it surprise anyone that the idea of socialism has grown so fast with the youth. Government is meant to be their new Mom and Dad to take them through the next 60 years of their life.
