Governor Jay Inslee vetos sex offender notification.

Washington state governor Jay Inslee has vetoed a portion of a bill which required community notification of a violent sexual predator being moved into a non restrictive community. Why would he take steps to increase a threat to the vulnerable people in a community?

One of the sections that was vetoed addresses community notification with regard to sexually violent predators being placed in Less Restrictive Housing Alternatives (LRA) by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). The proviso would have established a pilot program that would run until 2025.

I always wondered if the sex offender registry was constitutional.

Nevertheless, I did look at it occasionally when my children were legal. You can't be too careful.

I suspect it is part of normalizing perversions and treated the convicted as victims and as people with different sexual needs.

It is very hard to second guess what agenda progressives are pushing at any given moment and I hold nothing as impossible these days.

What we really need is a registry of mental cases, showing the history of mental illness.
So many roomates I have taken in were flatout CRAZY! 51/50!
I use the site; Truthfinder, and it digs deep into financial and criminal violations, but nothing about mental instability!
The Hippa act prevents such data, regretfully!

In this case the state is moving violent sex offenders still
serving their sentence into neighborhoods and Inslee is saying the people can’t be notified. If these people had served their sentence in full and were being released it would be a different situation.

I know that. But in this case the state is placing violent sex offenders in neighborhoods and refusing to inform the public.

    It is a knotty problem
I have a friend who is a therapist who treated the inmates of the state prison here who were under civil commitment having served their sentence for sexual misconduct and been committed as they were deemed likely to reoffend.
By his report it is very common amongst those inmates to blame the victim and claim that they were seduced by the victim.
With such people therapy is frustrated as they do not admit they have a problem.
I think great care should be taken as to what violent sexual predators are released into the community. I'm not sure that happened in this case.
