No it does not. 18 U.S. Code § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy concerns only conspiracy for sedition not actual sedition.

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Key terms in bold. Of course, the 2020 insurrectionists were also guilty but, IIRC, the left freaked out about the use of this law against them.

There is no separate federal crime of sedition.

No, what you mean is that there is no federal crime of sedition. You can shut up now.

Not my problem. In plain English, you can conspire to do something without ever doing it.

The mere fact that you guys are so quick to try to rationalize away the seriousness of what this domestic terrorist did is telling. You guys have decided that defending Trump is more important than defending the Constitution and laws of the United States.

Ma'am, what we have been quick to do since 01.07.2021 is dismiss your risible hypocrisy. Most of those who sympathize with the right here have no problem with those guilty of crimes on 01.06 being punished for them. Secondly, no one has "rationalized" the riot that occurred on 01.06.2021 (the third such riot since 2017). The problem is that rioting cannot suddenly become something to take seriously. Sorry, that $#@! ain't gonna fly.

I don't think the 1/6 rioters had sedition in mind. I think they honestly felt the election had been stolen so they felt were on the right side of the law.

Right after it happened, I think we should have focused on making our elections seem less vulnerable. Too much political emphasis was put on it and not enough measures taken to keep it from coming back.

This is D.C. Metropolitan Police Dept. Lieutenant Shane Lamond. He was passing inside information to the Proud Boys in advance of the January 6th insurrection. He is a traitor.
