When Schumer refuses to allow a vote then this squarely falls on his shoulders.
Now if they vote against it then they can make a claim that it was not acceptable but they need to do that today if they want to leave anytime for it to be rewritten.

The problem with Democrats is that the Independents side with the Republicans on wanting cuts to go with an increase in the debt ceiling. Independents blame the President more than Congress.

Very persuasive - a mention of a poll that can't be cited.

I asked my friend Google, and it said polling is all over the map, including one showing 2:1 support for a clean debt limit increase. Apparently the response depends a lot on the wording of the question.

I am sure the poll could be cited to. If someone wanted to. Looks like Carolina did.
