According to the article and one study young men are 22% weaker than they were in the 1980's. The article seemed to use upper body metrics like pinch strength, pushing with your palm which they state are known to be good measurements. I have my doubts on that but anyway. 20-34 year olds in the study didn't fare well compared to their counterparts in the 80's
The article did not say if the measurements are adjusted for size. But if not, this could be even more disturbing because today's kids are bigger, at least weight wise.
Maybe it's just bad science, but if not that's a hell of a drop.
On the other hand it's not exactly shocking as every aspect of life is less physical it seems. From using a nail gun instead of a hammer to not having to get up to change the channel.
