Coldest and hottest day of the year where you live

When I was a child it was 120 degrees in the shade with 3 feet of snow … I had to walk 5 miles to school with my brother on my back … and it was uphill both directions.

I went cross-country skiing one morning in Bozeman, Montana at 41 below zero. It was a challenge to get my old 1947 Willys Jeep started. Hottest I’ve seen was 115 in Phoenix.

Damn when I was growing up we'd play hockey or street hockey down to about 20 below. I still came home with bleached white toes sometimes, because of sweating in the boots. Never would of tried it at -40 though. Did that cold air hurt when you exerted yourself and breathed in hard?

The 115 would likely be the end of me though. Where do your set your AC, like 80?

Heat index is meaningless. 95 degrees is 95 degrees. Its like Wind Chill Factor. Water does not freeze because the wind chill is below 32 degrees. Temperatures here in Florida during the height of the summer are 95/95. 95 degrees, 95% humidity. According to the chart from the National Weather Service that means the Heat Index is about 125 degrees. Even the weather reports on TV don't make that claim.

When I was a kid 95 degrees was 95 degrees, 40 degrees was 40 degrees. Using the so called "Heat Index" is just another way to claim "Climate Change" and is pure BS

Wind chill matters for unprotected skin, but also your coat will provide a little less help in the wind. It's really just wind feels colder that no wind and when you get down to zero with a wind it reallly matters. On the other handit's pretty easy to dress for wind chill

Recently we hit 98 for a couple of days. The "media" claimed it was unprecedented, which was a lie.

Nope. The last few summers were largely cooler than normal.

Since Ophelia rolled through we have been cooler than normal for this time of year. Lots of needed rain.

Our weather has been the same as it’s always been. A mixed bag. Parts of the year we can have four seasons in one day. Last summer we had normal summer temps, but less rain. I’m sure some found that unusual and evidence of man made climate change.

Yesterday in Burlington VT, 86, broke the standing record from 1891 by 4 degrees, and the warmest day ever in October by 1 degree. What an Indian (can't touch that) summer it's been!
