The people that buy the influence congress sells do so to have unfair advantage. But I could not agree more with the end of deductions and credits. Who other than government would print 100 pages of rules (if that) followed by thousands of pages of exceptions.
Those are insurances not taxes. They do have to become self-supportive. That is where privatization comes in for future generations. they will be better off than us. Some day figure out how much you paid in (including your employer) over your lifetime. Put that in your account and figure out what you would have made at just the average 6% interest in our lifetime. Then figure out what you would have made at just playing the NYSE. Do it in Excel because you will need to compound all those contributions every year. Make it a ROTH style IRA so you owe no taxes after retirement, so you can still work. You taxale income is already based on your gross before SS and Medicare deductions.

Then figure out what you would get out of SS. You immediately would be for privatization where that 12.4% SS goes right into a private IRA even if it was restricted to make sure you did not gamble with it. And guess what. Your heirs get what you do not use instead of the general public. Then you actually could have added to your retirement savings.

Your response will be holy hell what did they do to me?

Which is easy when you give the power back to the states and cut Federal spending. No more Dept of agriculture. No more Department of Education. The IRS becomes just 10% of what it was. The EPA, DOE and other regulatory agencies get combined but get their nuts cut off. They have to focus on what is important. They are already redundant to the states so they get involved in issues between the states when requested.
