We all know that democrats live to check boxes. Everyone has to be a first. First black guy, first trans woman, first Cuban lesbian hot air balloonist etc. Now the democrats can stand up and smugly say they have within their ranks the first ever senator who is afraid of pants.

Over the weekend Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer nixed the dress code for U.S. Senators who enter the Capitol chamber, saying they no longer have to wear a suit and tie. Staffers are still required to wear business attire while their bosses are free to sport sweats.

"Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) quietly has directed the Senate's Sergeant at Arms to no longer enforce the chamber's informal dress code for its members," Axios reported Sunday. "Why it matters: The new directive will allow Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who tends to favor gym shorts and hoodies over the business attire traditionally required in the chamber, to linger on the Senate floor before and after votes."

I've never been one for putting on airs, so I can't bring myself to care about this too much. I get the concept of dressing professionally, but in the great scheme of things, this rates pretty low. Especially when we're dealing with real problems. Must be a slow news day. I like what somebody said, if Fetterman can't dress right, why not just make an exception for him, give him a medical exemption or something. But I guess the idea is to make a "safe space" for him so he can fit in.

I guess grown men who are too lazy to dress like adults are now a minority. Which is a good thing I guess. Liberal women have already made it clear they don't want liberal men.
