"Satanic panic" still happens, whenever certain people hear about things they either don't understand, or that they think distracts others from traditional religious practice and belief, or what they think of as traditional religious practice and belief. Popular culture things, everything from Barney the big purple dinosaur to Harry Potter to yoga and meditation, has been cited at one time or another as being "of Satan". Traditional Catholics have claimed to perceive the Devil's hand in certain of the changes made by Vatican II. There was a rumor that Avon - the cosmetics and costume jewelry company that used to come to your door - was owned by Satanists because some of their pendant and earring designs were of the crescent moon - allegedly a Satanic symbol. As for accusations of being a Communist...well, read this forum for a few months.

I played D&D when I was younger. I am interested in seeing what happens with it when VR get better.
