Look at Thomas Jefferson. He was a *sort-of* Christian--in that he liked the teachings of Jesus. But, he didn't buy into the "rise from the dead" thing.

Jefferson wasn't a Christian. Who cares what he believed?

You're just a little confused. You asked why having no contemporary extraneous information was important, and I answered you fully. Do you not understand what "contemporary extraneous" means? It means no outside (extraneous) evidence of Jesus existence from the period he was rumored to have lived (contemporary).

Because there is none--or at least none has ever been found, to date, it means the history of Jesus comes from the religious scriptures--that's it. That's where the circular reasoning comes in.

I posted a quote from that story to demonstrate the existence of the theory--not to demonstrate that I believed the theory.

I specifically said it was a fringe theory.

Then, you went and misread posts and tried to deflect by saying I claimed to have posted a link of books on Jesus in India, which wasn't what I claimed at all.

This is an actual theory, and there is a shrine in Kashmir where they believe Jesus is buried.

But, realistically, what is more likely? Just be logical for one moment--consider a story of a man who was thought to be dead and his body put in a tomb but later the tomb was empty. Is it more logical that the man hadn't really been dead--he revived and left the tomb, or a supernatural entity assumed him, body and all, into the heavens?

I mean, really.

An atheist trying to make Christianity unbelievable. The whole thing is faith. Logic has nothing to do with any of what you write.
