Jewish Protestors Stranded in Bus Driver Walkout

Lawsuits have been filed. The Federation says it won't sue the bus companies as they see it as individual boycott actions. But individuals can sue companies and individuals. Claims can be for Title 6 of the CRA '64 and Federal Transit Law. Discussion below:

I believe it's reasonable to assume that the drivers who called in sick were protesting the official protest - protesting, in effect, those who were rallying for the support of Israel. Were all the "stranded" passengers Jews? Most likely the great majority of them were, but their religious affiliation or cultural identification was not why the drivers acted as they did; the drivers' actions were almost certainly predicated on where the passenger were going and what they were going there to do. Had those same drivers been tasked with taking busloads of Jews to a casino outing in Atlantic City, they'd have probably been on the road as planned. Think about it. How many instances of busloads of Jews being stranded on their way to the Grand Canyon or Las Vegas or any other place do we hear about? The difference here lies in the destination and the protest going on there; that most or even all of the passengers in this case were Jews is incidental.

We're talking about whether these particular Jews were victims of anti-Semitism in this instance - not whether Jews have historically been victims of discrimination and worse. Their business or not, they obviously knew about it, and the fact that their would-be passengers would be going to a rally for a cause that they apparently had a problem with is why the drivers did what they did. Not because the passengers were Jewish.

So you are in favor of preventing free speech from certain types of law abiding persons (we won't say Jews as many may not have been) as good progressives I take it?
