You're right that the Holocaust had not officially begun but at the time of the voyage, May 1939, it was already several months after Kristallnacht. By that time, the anti-Jewish policies of the Nazi regime were well-established, and Jews were increasingly targeted and persecuted.

Assume for a moment that you are correct. (I understand, that won't be hard for you, but it might prove a challenge for some of the rest of us.)

Assume that a business, organization or individual is refusing to do business with the political state of Israel or its illegal settlements, and that they are doing so in order to "harm" Israel.

Depending on exactly how one defines "ally" in this context, the U.S. has a minimum of somewhere around thirty allies in the world. Why is Israel the only nation that more than 80% of U.S. citizens cannot legally refuse to do business with, without losing their eligibility to enter into a contractual agreement with the State?

Belgium, Turkey, Latvia, Italy, Iceland, Canada, etc., etc. are also our allies...yet if my business or organization has a problem with the laws or policies of any of those countries, nobody cares. The State doesn't care. Why do politicians see is as necessary to make Israel a special case and protect it from the slightest "harm" by a U.S. company?

Jewish organizations have worked tirelessly for left wing causes for over a century. Why would I want more of them? Well....no. We should be asking morons like Mister V that question.

Because, statistically speaking, those of Jewish ancestry are highly intelligent, they win a large number of Nobel prizes in the sciences, they regularly contribute to new medical and educational progress. They're high achievers.

We keep hearing how we can't have people south of the border migrate here because they're lazy and not educated -- they don't pay their fair share in taxes. There are no such complaints about Jews. They're over-qualified. They're dedicated. They have incredible work ethics.

They would improve -- not detract -- from any community they join.
