There is a natural system that would work very well. Its call Capitalism. Take away the politicians ability to regulate business and business has no reason to give politicians money.

Microsoft was the competition to Apple. Apple insisted on making everything proprietary at high prices and that is what enabled Microsoft with its open systems and hardware architecture to come to dominate the world of PCs.

That might be true. However many would argue that MS used and maybe manipulated federal protections to squelch competition. Maybe I remember some issues with the porting of its software to other software.

But the thread is not about MS. The point I wanted to make was that it wasn't pure Capitalism that produced the wealth the OP has a problem with. Not that wealth is a problem.
