Sounds a lot like me in the 80's. I stayed on the edge for about 10 years then got left behind. Glad to know there is resource that has already done the leg work. I honestly thought computers were going to be gone via the smart phone by now. But the legitimate work that a PC enables has saved the day.

M$ is skipping Windows 9 for issues sort of like the Y2K problem. Too many apps to determine version check for "Windows 9" already, as in 95, 98 and would switch to old code incorrectly. No one likely runs Windows 1 anymore.

I thought I had hit heaven when Windows came out! I had been used to typing long strings under Dos! I think it used take about 12 characters before and 12 after to underline a word. I thought stored macros were great before Windows!

DOS! OMG, you are ancient. I thought I was going to be teased over Windows 1.

Sadly, DOS is still there, under the covers--in the closet, lol. I have to use it to administer servers sometimes.

Chris...I'm not kidding when I tell ya that I'm 3 years older than dirt! My first PC was a TRS-80...when IBM was saying that PC's were just a fad and would never catch on. Our main frame was a huge Honeywell in a special room kept at 60 degrees. The head of the IT dept made everyone who worked there wear white lab coats (and this was at a shipyard).

What a sucker, you had Windows1? I stayed on the DOS until Windoze 95 had been out for 15 months.

Yep. Them old Winchester hard drives would splatter on the smallest speck of dust.

That I would not know. Your question is better addressed to a Moderator or the Administrator.
Let's see how much care and compassion Trump and Republicans show for their fellow Americans to truly help them out in their time of need.

Let's start the count to see if Trump comes through on the many things he promised to do for Americans. If he doesn't, along with a Republican Congress, then what's his and their excuse?
