Is this going to be a smarmy attack on Bush who was long not the president? LOL

I have listened to the General speak, and have met him briefly, and I think he's one of the greatest generals we have had.
I also felt he was a great general, but he showed seriously sketchy judgement about classified information, long before the affair. Which means that he really wasn't a very good general.

General Petraeus has been a great soldier and patriot to the country. If he has screwed up regarding the hot babe then he needs to be held accountable for his actions.

But i seriously doubt he will face any time incarcerated. If that were to occur it would be a politically motivated travesty.

2 years probation, and $100K fine.

No jail, but the judge uped the fine big time.

So he will be silenced for 2 years. That gets the dems through the next election cycle.

I'd argue that he's getting off incredibly lightly. John C. Kiriakou got 30 months in federal prison for leaking the name of a covert operative to a reporter. Petraeus leaked more than one covert operative name, and a $#@!load of other classified info, and got probation. Kiriakou was charged with a felony, for leaking one name, Petraeus was charged with a misdemeanor for leaking multiple names, along with said $#@!load of other classified information. Others have gotten as much as 30 years for leaking less classified information as the General.

(Surprisingly, $#@!load is apparently in the spell-check dictionary. )

I have no doubt that a large part of the reason he's getting off so lightly, is that a trial would make the administration look bad, since the actual leaks occurred after Obama made him Director of the CIA.
