for the love...can you not just respond to the main point?

2/3rds to propose and 3/4ths to ratify.

Or we could have a Constitutional Convention and simply rewrite the entire constitution. That's about as likely to happen as going through the state legislatures.

    You can't.

We might as well include an amendment denying the federal government to have a civilian armed force large than the USMC.

We are heading toward a rebellion. The good news is that there are plenty of weapons and ammunition.

There is no Constitutional provision for having a Constitutional Convention. It would require a coup or successful rebellion.

If all we are going to do as a country is fight over the constitutionality of gun control then to me it's only logical to take the constitutional step of repealing the amendment. By doing that we can then ban specific guns from being manufactured, sold, and owned. It may not make gun advocates happy but atleast it would be constitutional from that point on. So yeah...
Go for it. That is the correct way to change the constitution.

@Chloe. What you are suggesting would make gun control "constitutional" but do you really think that would satisfy those of us who believe the right to keep and bear arms is a God Given right and the 2nd Amendment does not "grant" that right but protects it? We believe the right of self defense from a tyrannical government is the most important right we possess. No one is going to stand by and allow that right to be taken from us.
