'Amusing Ourselves To Death' Read this years ago, check it out. You see this in much of the America so called conservative news today.

"In Huxley's vision, Postman writes, 'no Big Brother is required to deprive people of their autonomy, maturity and history. As he saw it, people will come to love their oppression, to adore the technologies that undo their capacities to think.""

"A peek-a-boo-world, where now this event, now that, pops into view for a moment, then vanishes again. It is a world without much coherence or sense; a world that does not ask us, indeed, does not permit us to do anything; a world that is, like the child’s game of peek-a-boo, entirely self-contained. But like peek-a-boo, it is also endlessly entertaining."

That pretty much sums up Democrat voters - loving their oppression, adoring the technologies that have stupefied them, etc.
“The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.”

When we were young mom would try to manage / control / censor our books, especially porn. Today, as it has been forever it seems, diversity and sexual issues confuse the so called religious right and the republicans use the topic to manage them and get their vote. Sexuality sure confuses the religious right, one wonders if their God has made a mistake. God once destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, don't you wonder why he doesn't destroy blue states where sin runs rampant according to the conservative religion right republicans. Seems odd that all these storms hit random states.

Fox "News" even defined itself, in a court of law, to be entertainment, and not news. Fox consumers don't let that get in the way, though.

Being done right now about Ukraine even though it will be another failed foray.
When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.

When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.

And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.

    War is peace.

    Freedom is slavery.
