I think they mean alternative to the norm or mainstream. One could say that in his time Martin Luther was an alt Christian.

Sorry in advance for the brevity and narrow focus of my response to your OP, Polly, but my time is severely limited this morning.
This, certainly, is nothing particularly new and unique. The notion that the civil law should be overlaid with a "Christian" template, and religious doctrines imposed on the general public has been a mainstay in the belief system of one group or another since Colonial days.Additionally, Alt-Christianity rejects the idea that Church and State should be separated...
Is this a reference to racial separatism? As in the idea of setting up "Black states" and "White states"? Not sure what else this would be about.Alt-Christianity supports the right of self-determination to all ethno-ideological/religious groups, and it promotes secession as a means to ease tensions between groups.

By that definition, Christianity is alt. Yes, I know there are tons of people that claim Christianity, but most are full of it, honestly. So, they're claiming to be alt-alt, which makes so much sense.

lol It amazes me that progressives could become fascinated with something that is largely their own creation.
