If both sides can maintain a peaceful stance, the opinions and discussion can be shared. Its the threat or use of violence by any side that prevents its furtherance.
" I'm old-fashioned. I like two sexes! And another thing, all of a sudden I don't like being married to what is known as a 'new woman'. I want a wife, not a competitor. Competitor! Competitor!" - Spencer Tracy in 'Adam's Rib' (1949)
Art thou every retard among us related to thine uncle or mistress by way of moral or illegitimate rendezvous? Thus, we are one side of the other's coin by luck or pluck. - Jimmyz
I just reviewed a number of timelines of the events in Charlottesville and the closest you will get is "violence between white nationalists and counter-protesters began in the morning."

I propose something that will offend both Liberals and Conservatives.
1) Implement strict Hate Speech Laws -- such as UK, Germany, and Australia.
2) Implement Laws protecting workers from retaliation for off-duty political activity which does not croos over into Hate Speech. Here:
Hate Speech will definitely be considered to "present a conflict with the employer’s business"; other speech will not meet this standard. Some states (New York, California, Colorado, North Dakota) have passed laws which prohibit discrimination against an employee for participation in legal activities outside work hours. As long as the conduct does not present a conflict with the employer’s business, the activity should be allowed. However, whether blogging falls under the list of protected activities has yielded varying results in case law.
